The Ancona Room
The Ancona came as a breed from Eastern Italy - in the area of the seaport town of Ancona on the Adriatic Sea - to Europe in the mid of the 19th century and were first exhibited around 1850 in Birmingham, Great Britain.
The Ancona room has a queen-size bed and a private in-suite bathroom. It also features a hand made, built-in oak bookcase for those times you'd like to relax with a good book. Ours is a varied book collection, from technical books to science fiction; romance to history, we have a bit of everything.
This room has a view overlooking our front garden and a bird’s eye view of the bird feeder too. We’ve had guests traveling with another couple combine this room with the Leghorn because these two rooms have a hallway door to close them off from the other rooms. It makes for a nice two room suite.
The Leghorn Room
The breed originated in Italy, but most of the color varieties were developed in Great Britain, America and Denmark.
The Leghorn room with its comfy queen-sized bed, is warm and bright with a blue and yellow color palette. A striking feature of this room is the in-room pedestal sink. This is an original piece that was found here at the B&B and has apparently been here for ages. This antique sink has been restored as one part of the private in-suite bathroom for your use during your stay.
After a restful nights sleep in the queen-sized bed, take a moment in the morning to sit at the front window and watch the antics of the squirrels and birds at the front yard feeders.
